Manage Publications

Since WCM 1.1

This useful feature helps you manage the publication easily and effectively.

1 Sites Explorer

You easily publish a web content after adding it into the web contents folder of a site as well as manage the publication in the Sites Explorer by following guides:

1. Go to Sites Management --> Sites Explorer

2. Go into the drive of a site which contains the web content that you want to publish.

3. Select the web content to view by double clicking it on the left tree or on the right.

4. Select the WCM Actions tab of WCM view to show main actions on the Action bar.

5. Show the Manage publication form by clicking on the icon Icon.png on the Action bar:

This form includes three tabs:

  • The Publication status tab: this tab lets you know about all statuses of versions. You only may publish a content with the 'Live' status. There are four content statuses for a content:
  • Enrolled: means that the revision is created but never edited .
  • Draft: means that the revision has already been created and is editable. Thus you still can edit it if you want.
  • Live: means that you cannot modify this revision anymore. With this state, the content is ready for publication.
  • Obsolete: means that the revision does not live anymore and you cannot publish it if is was published.
  • The Publication pages tab: this tab is used to publish a content which has the 'Live' status.

The Left pane: contains the page list on the navigation bar of current site that is presented in terms of tree structure.

The Right pane: contains the path to the position that the selected web content will be published.

Following guides to publish a content:

1. Select the position on the left pane that you want to publish.

2. Click on the left to right arrow to show the path to the publishing content on the right pane:

Note:

If you don't want to publish the content at a selected position on the right pane, select it on the right pane and click Right to Left arrow:

The content will not be shown at that page and the path to that position on the right pane will be removed from path list.

  • The Publication history tab:
This tab is used to keep track of publishing history of a site: Select the Publication history tab in the above form to view detail information (including: Date, New State, User and Description) of a site's publication:

3. If you want to change the position to publish the selected web content, select the current path and click on the right to left arrow to remove the path.

4. Click on the Close button to close this form and publish the web content. After being published, all users have the permission to access that position can view the published web content as a page on the Navigation bar.

2 Single Content Viewer

1. Select the following path on the Navigation bar: Viewers --> Single Content Viewer.

2. To edit a content of this page, do not forget turn on the EDIT mode of the current site.

3. Click on on the edit icon in this page to create/select a web content for publishing. You can create a new content or select the existing content.

3 Content List Viewer

Following these simple guides to publish multiple contents on a page:

1. Go to Viewers --> Content List Viewer on the navigation bar.

2. Turn on the EDIT mode.

3. Show the form to select contents by clicking on the edit icon EditIcon.png :

4. Select a folder that contains some contents (documents/web contents) to publish.

5. Click on the Save button to accept publishing contents of the selected folders.

After publishing contents, contents of the selected folder will be displayed in the Content List Viewer page:

If you are turning on the EDIT mode, you will see all DRAFT and PUBLICATION versions in list of the Content List Viewer page. Thus you can edit a draft version by clicking on the Edit icon on the same line with the name of the content that you want to edit.

But if the EDIT mode is turned off, only the PUBLICATION versions are displayed.
